On the dashboard, select the site where you want to implement Google Tag Manager.
Then, click on Advanced and subsequently click on Google GTM.
You will enter this wizard to begin the setup process.
Now, click the Sign in with Google button and select your account.
Click Continue to proceed.
Select the site or the container you wish to use. The default workspace will be selected automatically.
If you have technical knowledge, you can create a new Consent workspace; however, for most users, simply selecting the default is sufficient.
Then click on Next. Now, the magic happens as the setup continues.
If you want to utilize platforms such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, Microsoft Clarity, LinkedIn Insights, Pinterest, Snapchat, or TikTok, you can configure them all here.
For testing purposes, let's say the key for Google Analytics is 12345678.
For Google Ads, be sure to input your conversion ID and conversion label, which you will find based on the requirements.
All necessary information to complete each step is available, making it easy to proceed.
If you wish to configure all options, simply input all required data.
Once you're done, click Next.
Then, just click Apply Changes.
As you can see, we have selected Always Consent, Google Analytics, and Google Ads Conversion.
Now, we wait for a minute or two for the changes to take effect.
Once completed, the setup will be done.
You can then go in and review the changes in Google Tag Manager. Select your account, for example, Test account.
What you will see is that it adds the template, the necessary variables (including Conversion ID, Conversion Label, ConsentCookie, Google Measurement ID, and Website ID).
It also creates the trigger and sets up the Consent CMP along with adding the conversion linker and configuring the Google tag.
Finally, just press Publish.
Then you are done with the setup!
By following these steps, you will successfully set up Google Tag Manager and enhance your tracking capabilities.
